BBC Young Jazz Musician of 2016 Alexandra Ridout (20) – trumpet, and co-finalist Noah Stoneman (18) -piano, will perform a mixture of jazz favourites and originals. Having worked closely together in many different musical settings, the rapport between them is instantly apparent and their duo performances have delighted audiences nationwide.

Alexandra Ridout was crowned the winner of the BBC Young Musician Jazz Award 2016 at the age of 17. ” We were enchanted by Alexandra’s presence as a musician, her sound, but I think most importantly there was a relationship with the blues and swinging that sounds important in her playing” – Julian Joseph, Chair of the jury of the BBC Young Musician Jazz Award 2016. She recently won the British Jazz Awards 2018 ‘Rising Star’ award.

Noah Stoneman is a London based pianist/organist and former finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition. He performs regularly around the country with various projects such as electronic trio Zeñel, the Alexandra Ridout Quintet and his own trio under his name. He has also performed alongside the likes of Clark Tracey, Gwilym Simcock, Gareth Lockrane, Jean Toussaint and Jim Mullen.
