Sunday 16th February  2020, 3pm

  • Thomas Evans (clarinet)
  • Bea Hubble (Oboe)
  • Richard Beards (Bassoon)

Please note that, for this concert, Thomas Evans is being replaced by Caroline Waddington (Clarinet).

The Trio will perform a varied programme of chamber music gems including

  • Rossini’s Barber of Seville Sinfonia,
  • Mozart’s Divertimento No 5 K439b
  • Beethoven’s Trio in C Op 87.

Trio Volant was formed in 2010 whilst all the members were studying at the Royal Northern College of Music. The Trio regularly give formal recitals and lunchtime concerts in and around Manchester and the North West as well as further afield from Wales to Essex! They particularly enjoy the opportunity to perform the lesser known reed trio chamber music repertoire. They are recent winners of the Dorothy Parkinson Award 2017 for young outstanding British chamber musicians as well as being Selected and Recommended Artists for Making Music for 2018-2019.

The individual members have a wealth of solo, chamber music and orchestral experience between them including performances at The Bridgewater Hall, Symphony Hall, Snape Maltings and Cadogan Hall. Richard is a busy freelance bassoonist and is in demand throughout the North West. Bea enjoys a varied career as a peripatetic teacher, animateur and freelance oboist. Caroline lectures in Performance Studies at the University of York alongside being an active performer and ‘Music-for-Health’ practitioner. The group’s members have worked with The Halle, Opera North, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Sinfonia ViVa, Raymond Gubbay’s Manchester Concert Orchestra, Northern Chamber Orchestra and National Festival Orchestra. The trio are looking forward to another busy schedule of recital engagements across the UK during the 2019-20 season from Dorset to the Isle of Arran!
